Thanks to austinstylewatch.com for putting our new 7 layer cake dresses on their blog. I was also reading about all the new shops opening up on ( BuRo ) Burnet Road. I knew my area would really start happening!! http://www.austinstylewatch.com/blog/
Since my husband is in the music industry I have been lucky enough to see Tom Waits several times. I really liked him in"Bram Stoker's Dracula". A good friend of our was in the movie Cary Elwes. I made a post last year about the performance group Inside a Broken Clock Tom Waits Peepshow that I did corsets for.
Since Tom Waits was brought to mind..... From what I have heard this show was very successful in San Francisco. The performers bought and wore my designs. You can see my corset in a couple of the photos. I never had a chance to see the show.I would rather see Tom live it's always a great show. I have more photos I might post later. We are crazy busy today. Yes I'm working on a sunday!
New for 2007: a batch of new Tom Waits songs, larger puppets, more pretty girls, a drag queen, new burlesque action, another look through our peephole, and jokes that border on the tasteless! Inside a Broken Clock: A Tom Waits Peepshow is a small-scale spectacular featuring dance, puppetry, and risqué vaudeville weirdness, set to the music of Tom Waits and played live by Austin's No Salvation Army Band. This is not a literal peepshow, but instead a peek through the keyhole at the sin and salvation, the sweet nothings and sour grapes that make up the Tom Waits universe as we see it. In the Broken Clock Cabaret you'll see one dancing bear, two fallen showgirls, three disgruntled gravediggers, and dozens of other oddities. From the big top to the back alley, we proudly present the arcane visions for numerous songs--concentrating on the strange world created by Waits and his wife Kathleen Brennan, from 1983 through the present.
The Art Nouveau Klimt Dress can be worn with interchangeable belts. The belt that it comes with is a simple floral skinny belt with rhinestones. The belt on the dress now is from our Layer Cake Collection. I can't wait to see the photos from the shoot of this dress. It is so fabulous on.
** Both Dresses are sold
We have a collection of dresses that we put together a few weeks ago for the trunk show in Los Angeles. We are going to list a couple on etsy along with new accessories. Here are a few snap shots from our shop in Austin. All of the 7 layer cake dresses have layers of lace and mix and match belts. The belts are something that we have been making for awhile now and just started putting a few on etsy. We are taking orders now on the 7 layer Cake Dresses and tops. We are not putting all of our designs on until we get the knock off situation under control. Let us know if you would like to see pictures of the garments.
As most of you know my inspiration for designing is the Boudoir Doll. I make Boudoir Doll Clothes for people. I'm posting a picture of the most decadent doll! I'm sure I will figure out a way to design something with her in mind. This doll is amazing it's gorgeous. It looks like a Rosalinde. It has the same hands as my metallic emerald nipple Rosalinde in previous posts. She belongs to my friend Jenny. She's selling it can you believe it!! If you are interested in buying this doll let me know. She will sell fast so email asap if you want her. She's 2500.00 The only reason I'm not buying her is because I've got five people working on my designs right now for upcoming shows. I was invited by the beautiful Shien to do Dances of Vice. It falls very close to my Los Angeles show so I'm trying to figure out if I can do both.I'm doing New York in the fall but I love Dances of Vice so I'm trying to work it out. I still have news to report but not until next week : ) Buy this doll you won't be sorry!
This is our fabulous irredescent Victorian Space Doll dress that we made for the November 07 Stitch Fashion Show in Austin. It was made and patterned by us. Our whole collection of silk chiffon pants and tops sold out. This is one of our last pieces and the prettiest. The entire line was based on chiffon and pin tuck detailing. It was stunningly beautiful. The Boudoir Belt is from our new line and is available now in our Etsy shop.
Patty Griffin Wearing My Metallic lace and Flower choker on the cover and editorial of NO DEPression Magazine. I think this is either 2003 or 4 I'll have to look it up at the store. I loved this choker.
If you read the print on the editorial page you can see where this says Boudoir Queen's French Revolution. I had my New York Rep during this time as it says their name on the description. I'm really excited ! It took the computer tech 4 hours but he was able to put all the photos on a disk from my old laptop so I have lots of new pics!!!
