A Few House Photo's of the Move In Progress-Later Today!!!!

I did have some time about 10 days ago to work on this in my dining room.The shelf was built later around 1940. It was made to display plates. I have some stories about the lady who lived here and collected them. A story was sent to me about who brought her the first plate. So much history in this old house. my shelf: Baccarat and Wedgwood decanters- Tiffany and Wedgwood champagne and water glasses- Royal Doulton china with my Marie Antoinette plates. The Vases are 20's hand painted and I'm trying to remember the name of the painter ;/ I have a lemonade set by the same company and I can't remember the name. I used to be really into glass wear and I haven't been keeping up with it.

My Moon Parlor Dress that sold a couple months ago was a hint to our new fall collection. You may remember the post. It was some of the fabric we bought at mood in NYC. From the looks of the new Cavalli ad campaign we are right on trend! More in August!! Lot's more!!!!!!!!

Blissed Out

I've had a fabulous weekend. I'm walking the streets of my new neighborhood with glee. One block away is the Colorado river and an the other corner tons of antique shops. Every house is historical. I'm so inspired. My older neighbor came over yesterday and told me this house was a former house of ill repute and a gambling house. I guess that's why I liked it. I can see people in Victorian garb playing cards in our living room. It's very saloon-ish (in a cool way) Last night we sat on the massive porch it was so nice. I love it here! Next week the girls are all coming over for a meeting about our fashion week show. Today is my 4 year anniversary . So I'm hanging out at the house and spending time with Mark and my son. They had a yard sale at the old house yesterday . They sold everything and are pretty tired. Life is grand and I know one thing...I NEVER want to move again!

I'm getting tired of moving boxes around and I'm anxious to get back to work. I'm excited about finally attending The Swan Dive parties yay! My friend Angel has the best parties. Maybe I can wear something like the photo above ha ha (that's actually from the fashion week couture shows) I'll be posting some Austin Fashion weeks news this week. I was asked to do another fashion week which is up there with New York/Milan but it's in September. I'm still thinking about it but I might wait until next year. I'm not sure ;/ it would be an awful lot to do.

Everyone's wanting to know if I'll be posting house pics. Yes of course I will! I won't be getting my cable hooked up for another ten days. All of my camera software is installed in my main Mac home computer so it will be a little while longer. This house wont really be set up right for another six months. I'm having the rooms painted and such. I'll post pics of the process asap!

Happy Holiday

Today I'm forcing myself to relax. I cannot move another piece of furniture. Yesterday Dylan and I were testing keys. As I mentioned this house has a million doors and old locks. The doors are oval beveled glass. Some of the doors have 3 glass panels. So when we were testing we actually found a hidden room....so cool! We also found that on the other side of one of the doors it was full on Victorian Gothic revival. I'm starting back to work soon so I really have to get this place some what together. A few rooms need painting and my chandeliers need to be hung. I'm having a huge party in August then I'm leaving for work in New York after my show. I'll miss the house.

My New Life

This morning when I woke up I truly felt like Scarlet. My house is right out of a an old movie. Speaking of movies they film a lot here. A couple of days ago they had a very elaborate set and were paying everyone to sit in a coffee shop. My son is loving it. It's like being at home for him. He lives in Hollywood so the filming thing is nothing new. We moved furniture until 1:00 a.m. ouch! I can hardly walk today. I'm a little ashamed and embarrassed to say that the 3200 sq ft house is full ;/ My son looked at me last night and said "ok mom do you feel like you have enough things now" My answer is yes. I'm spending the next year working on my business like a fiend. I have a lot of news about my new studio and some things that are happening for my line. I do have to get the house organized because I'm going to be filmed for something VERY cool. More to be revealed. We have two more truck loads and then Mark and dylan will be getting the other house ready to be sold. It will be on the market by the 15th I hope. Also next week when I get the computer up and running I'm starting pre orders/ first dibbs on our Fall Runway collection. I'm also selling a couple of things that we made for the Cavalli Shoot .I'll be sending foto's of the first 5 outfits to those of you on our mailing list. Have a safe and fun 4th everyone! Hugs BQ

I'm getting ready for the arrival of yet another truck load and it's raining in Austin which makes it a bit tricky. I'm totally exhausted. I know I wanted a big house but I'm worn out. Back and forth. It's huge and takes time to get from one end to another. I stayed overnight last night and slept on the victorian sofa ;( -my bed will finally be set up tonight. I'm thrilled my son Dylan is here. he's been a big help and it's been nice spending time together. He nearly fell over when he saw the house. We had friends helping us move yesterday and they fell in love with the area. I truly love it here.

Maggie I laughed when I read your comment- That's was hilarious. Ya I don't think topless moving would have went over well in the new neighborhood. Actually my costume of the day was jeans a white t-shirt and converse sneakers. When I had my meetings I dressed it up with a geisha girl kimono jacket. xoxoxox
