Check out our fabulous couture show from last year! I love the fabrics we bought in NYC-Several of these pieces have been in editorials including the mask in Italian Vogue. Be sure to contact me about stores where Boudoir Queen can be purchased. We only put our one offs online now!
I've finally decided on my color choices for 3 different projects I'm working on. It's difficult picking fabric for each one because each is totally different from the other. All I can say are two things "Saint Martins in London" and YES I will make a capsule line for your company WOW -stay tuned on this because I'm really excited about new things that are happening at Boudoir Queen ;) Also new press!!
After this trip we have decided we have to have new phones. Hardly any of our photos turned out. Both of the cameras on our phones have basically bitten the dust. Also I will reveal my new look before SXSW. I haven't had a haircut since July and my hair hasn't been colored in 6 weeks. Marks hair was so bad he had to wear a hat. Anyway we are getting new do's next week and I cannot wait- I know hair talk is a bore but my husband was annoyed I posted bad pics of him so here's a bad one of me ;) Eyes closed -lips Pursed
For those of you who may not have wristbands our friends from the Cult are playing the Auditorium Shores for sxsw. Now we just talked to them and there are playing a few shows. Special ones ;). Mark is also doing a show- I hate to sound spoiled but I am lol. I usually only go to show where we have VIP passes. I'm just to old to be standing out in the mass of concert goers. That being said Marks old management is also Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks managers. Tom is coming to Austin in a few weeks after SXSW and that will be awesome. I mean ever song is a hit!
Yesterday we finished up some playful spring dresses. Classic B-Queen. We will not be listing much until the end of next month. Our new collection for fashion week will be like no other collection we have done thus far. I'm going all out this year. I'm also excited that I have half of my models 5 months in advance. I've done so many shows now I know exactly who I want. You might even see a special guest in my show this year :) Also I'll be messing around with my website today. Keep checking back......
Shannon and I and the new team are starting our all new collection for the show this Sunday. I can't wait. I'm doing all of my silly drawings and sketches. I've done so much research and have some great study pieces from my NYC trip and L.A. I'm excited about going a little different direction again this year.
We made this top about 2 months ago. I haven't shown it because I was thinking about keeping it for myself. As I was looking thru the Kirchhoff Collection I instantly thought of it. I love this look and check out those dotted metallic and green sleeves. 20's fabric on the arms with an edwardian base backed in chiffon and mottled dye. Flower accents and metallic cuff detail. Love love love!
Patty Griffin on the set of her video styled by yours truly. You can also see my fabulous red velvet victorian mourning shadow box in the background. I'm noticing the drapes look exactly like the ones in my dining room which came from Venice Italy. Dress-cuffs and necklace all BQ. The same cuffs were also made for Imogen Heap.
BQ Silken Gowns Gee I guess I should put more pics up with me and the horses. My FB exploded today. Thank you! I also had mega hits on this blog as well. I did a little extra as I will not be on tomorrow. I have a huge day in Austin. Have a great night! P.S. I'm picking up more vintage tomorrow in preparation for our mid March Update.
In the late 80's early 90's in Hollywood everyone had a Harley. All of the rockers also had horses and it was very chic believe it or not. We had two horses Mirabella and Poncho a wild mustang. We would ride the Harley up to Sunset Ranch and ride all day and night with some really fabulous people. It was a glorious time. We kept the horses for several years. Then with dylan growing up we decided to sell them. Horsing around is a very expensive hobby! Maybe I'll get a horse again now that I'm living out of the city. This photo is of me and Mirabella around 1990-91
So I've been selling a lot to costume designers lately and I can tell you that this robe has been seen in so many movies it's insane! Carnivale, Water for Horses, Boardwalk Empire and Factory Girl just to name a few off the top of my head. This one is extra nice with the checkered detail on the bottom back. Ask me about it!
Belle Époque French for The Beautiful Era and this certainly is! It's a silken dressing gown which can be worn and belted as a dress. It's officially my favorite piece of the moment. I have a whole new vintage collection I can't wait to offer it all to you. We are taking pre orders on some of the blog items. Also I will be doing a Vintage Show and I'll be posting details in a month or so. PS The sleeves are stuffed thus the wonkiness of the photo ;/
Upcycled Choker/necklace design that was hijacked- When ever we make something especially for online use we always see if anyone else is making it because I loathe doing the same thing others are doing EXACTLY to the T. Needless to say there weren't any of this exact concept online and nothing remotely close at the time. We made ours pre- Stitch show which was a huge success. They are everywhere now just like the cuffs and ankle cuffs made the Boudoir Queen way. I wonder what will be hijacked from our show in August? I think I know cause its gonna be better than ever. I'm shocked that some (designers?) have never done a legitimate fashion show or a proper collection ever. They just sit around and pick items they can make from other peoples collections. Damn fashion bandits! I'm not complaining I'm flattered that several of my ideas have taken off. Now on to the next one! Onward and upward.
