By yesterday's end I had several Anthropology gift cards----- so............ today I'm off to get the rest of my Ladies in Waiting Plates-) gotta love the gift cards!
Ok so I have to brag on my fabulous husband just a little bit more. He really treated me like a Queen this year on Christmas. I've been telling everyone that I wanted these Ladies in Waiting plates. He surprised me this morning with service for 6. I'm hoping this will inspire me to have a decadent dinner party. I have a beautiful service for 12 set of Royal Dalton that mixes up perfectly with these plates. The plates are available at Anthropology. You can use them in the microwave. Not that I will but they are functional as well.
I've been collecting "Pannier Dresses" for awhile now and I'm going to be making a few in styles like I've done in the past. I think it's our most popular look to date. Look at these gorgeous teaser pics. I was up at 7 and went to an amazing Edwardian Estate sale this morning. I'm boxing everything to take to the shop. I'm also redecorating my studio. It's a nightmare from the photo shoot. We will all be working in full force next week ; )
For Mark's birthday this year one of his gift's was a very rare late 1800's Zither. We had it restored and it sounds like new without disturbing it's aging appearance. We have instruments from all over the world. Mark's father travels a lot and always buys him something unique. I'd like to learn how to play it. Clearly Karen is not playing a Zither but her very rare Gibson Harp guitar that reminds me of the one we just got. When we move I'd like to have everything displayed in Marks studio but right now we just don't have the room. Our new Zither may make an appearance in tomorrows shoot ; )
Click image to enlarge I really wish I could show all of the new things I've bought for our line but alas I can't right now. I can offer you several items for pre-order. I'm putting most of the things you see here on our BQ Home Site. Check out the new pillows. I love the metal beaded heart that hangs. Much bigger and better in person. Feel free to ask me questions before I list.
Over the weekend I went to literally all my favorite shops in Austin and bought everything that I thought was cool. I even bought things that I've been eyeing over the past year. My picker also brought me an amazing Edwardian -20's box lot with some unusual ribbon work items. I also bought every piece from that fabulous old Rhinestone treasure trove I've been making the jewelry out of. Tons of flowers ,laces, metallic trims and even a couple of Boudoir Dolls. One thing I love about the shops and people that I buy from is that they always call me before they put things out. They know exactly what I'm looking for ; ) I'm anxious to get started on my collection for the fabulous fashion show we are doing this summer. I'll be posting more details soon.
Oh and in a post from yesterday my friend Kari is wearing the most divine rare Edwardian hat that came from my weekend purchases. Ask me about it before I put on www.boudoirqueen.com We are going to be updating our vintage and home sections. Lots of work to do over the few weeks. I can't wait to get back in the studio!
If you live in Austin be sure to pick up a copy of Austin Monthly Magazine to read about BQ.

OCTOBER 16th Post------------------ I listened to a lot of crazy rock music at a very early age. I've mentioned in previous blogs that in the 2nd grade I listened to Janice Joplin's PEARL album over and over. Someday I will share the story of how I thru away a bunch of Rock Posters that actually belonged to her on accident. It's a sad tale for another day. These are two of my all time favorite records from my collection. "Buckingham Nicks" is by far my fav long before Fleetwood Mac. I can remember being at some friends house when I was 16 and hearing it for the first time. I love the song Long Distance Winner and Races are Run. I had 3 of these albums they go for big bucks on Ebay if you have one. I'm saving this one for myself. I also love Marianne Faithfuls Greatest Hits- I love the cover. I've always wanted a pair of pants like that. I call these "Keith Richard's Pants" Someday I'll make them.
I was going thru my French Magazine collection. My old website, logos and t-shirts came from many of these magazines. BTW these are rare. Most of the one you see up that are not being sold are from my personal collection. I'm really getting a little giddy over the launch of the new site. I can't wait!
