Hot Child in the City - Rock Star Children

Fabulous Cali the daughter of rocker Hunt Sales (Iggy Pop and David Bowie Tin Machine) is a close friend of our family . For those of you who follow BQ you will see she has been modeling for me since she was 16. Last week she had her 20th Birthday. All of my models are all growing up and moving away. I'm thrilled that when she's in town she stops by to model for us. I've just listed tons of gorgeousness on etsy and my website. Our SC partner Matt and Mark are having a meeting now. It looks like our first Secret Circus will be around Valentines Day in Austin at a faboo hotel- We have start getting all of the costumes ready. It's a huge under-taking but I can't wait! Also I will be going back and forth to L.A. a lot over the next few months. Business-legal and pleasure. I won't be listing a new "collection" until winter 2011. We will list here and there as usual of course. I just bought a huge vintage lingerie lot and a lot of Edwardian items that I need to photograph and list. I'm using them in a new video so I can't share just yet. We have new things to share and I'll try and keep everyone posted. "Dead Weather"

I failed to mention in the L.A. blog post (the photo with our friend Mark)-That he directs faboo Music Video's and is doing one with Dead Weather . I think he already did one and is working on another. I'm not sure I can't keep up. This is fantastic news- Hopefully he will do one for my Mark. Another cool band Sounds under Radio invited us to see them at Stubbs tomorrow night. I promised them a cool ring. While Mark is at his Circus meeting I better try and pull something together. I dread going downtown but will try and make it to this awesome show! xox BQ

Dressing Patty

We made the entire outfit for Patty for Impossible Dream. As you can see the lace and silk top - skirt and pants were done in the nude palette. Tassel embellishments. The skirt silk. All garments were patterned and designed by BQ. These are not reworked vintage. Her cuff with the giant magnolia flower was on the cover of Paste 2003. I think Patty was one of the first singer/songwriters to embrace the repurpose vintage look. We made all of her clothes at the time and she purchased many amazing dresses which can be seen below in the photos. I have so many pictures of Patty. The photos of the red and brown piano shawl Koi top was featured in the Elle article. If you go thru my archives you can find a lot more. Such a talent!

OMG- this is sooooooooooo rare. As many of you know my husband Mark Younger-Smith co-wrote the now famous ahead of it's time CYBERPUNK Record----I've only found one other concert from this period. This one is great. Mark has half a head of pink hair LOL! Anyway I was happy to find this concert tour ended early and there's not a lot of footage. BQ XX
