THE SECRET CIRCUS IS ON !

The Aspen trip went amazingly well. Our room looked like Marie Antoinette's Chateau. The Jerome Hotel where the Secret Circus will be performing in May ,treated us like royalty with a fabulous massive suite and driver. We met many new friends. Our trip started out with a bang running into Perry Farrell from Jane's Addiction. By the way he will be performing in Aspen on New Years Eve. The flight was quite exciting. You land in Denver and take a prop plane into the rocky snow covered mountains. It feels like you are in a WW2 plane. It was pretty crazy when the pilot said " I think we can land the plane" what?? Ya think?? We arrived to the Hotel and it was just amazingly beautiful. The next morning we woke to snow flakes which I could see while lounging in my spa tub with lavender bubbles. We had our meeting and we our now prepping for the troupe to arrive in Aspen for our fabulous new show in May. I will be giving a lot more details about what this event will be like in the very near future. The first event will take place in Austin in February. Probably one of the largest events of the year. It will be held at the old Art Deco Power Plant building. We are happy to be working with someone who owns a very popular magazine that I've wanted to be in for quite some time. Back to Aspen- After the meeting we went to Nobu with our fab new friends. The dinner was superb. We frolicked around the hotel and took lots of pictures. I'm posting a few now but I have a lot more. For those of you who are wondering why I haven't been posting that much in my shop- we are selling out to clients and boutiques before I get a chance to post. Now with the Secret Circus-I'm going to be even more busy as we have at least 50 outfits to make. The event will have a Boudoir Queen Fashions show and all costumes will be made by Boudoir Queen. We are also still working on the launch of or home line ,vintage boutique and our Spring 2010 line. While I was away our winter pieces were nearly finished. As many of you know I do a very small winter collection every year. Spring is our busiest time of year and we are trying to get everything finished to ship to Boutiques. We are also going to be working on our Boudoir Queen Showroom. We have a lot going on so expect to see very little from us online until after the new year. We will be doing an update next week as promised. Now I need to unpack and get back to work. BTW it's suppose to snow in Austin today- Cheers, BQ xxxxxx

The divine Evan Rachel Wood is wearing Boudoir Queen custom Corsetry and accessories in all the scenes except the first one. I would like to thank Timothy the fabulous director for sending us some great concepts to work from. I love the styling and make-up in this video. The song is now one of my favorites. BQ's SIGNATURE HALF DOLL NECKLACES a Celebrity Favorite

We have sold out of almost all of our half doll Boudoir Queen Necklaces. They are going to be in something very special! Our Necklaces using 1920's half dolls have been part of our line forever and I'm happy they are catching on big time! They have been purchased and worn on stage by several recording artists. As I have said in previous posts I do have photos of artists wearing the necklaces and will post when the time is right. The good news is we made several more necklaces which have been photographed and when I return I'll be listing them on www.theboudoirqueen.com with a new collection. You can also purchase the necklaces in Los Angeles at Petro Zilla.

I am quite excited about our trip for the Secret Circus. We have already begun meetings in Austin and it is going to be huge! In fact I will be spending at least two months making at least 50 outfits for the performers and models in the show. So that being said we are going to be very busy over the next few months.I managed to buy a ton of new 20's textiles yesterday so they will be amazing!

P.S. I will be away but at least 5 new videos should be up on my website cinema by Tuesday night-hopefully

Chromium Dumb Belle is the embroidered and appliqued fantasy world of British artist Joanne Burke. Her embroidered hangings and art-to-wear accessories depict her own bizarre fairy tales and odd historical characters in multi-coloured dreamworlds of glowing metallics and faded technicoloured satins. Inspired by old costumes, theatre, eccentrics, and the exaggerated and embellished aspects of history and their gaudy fantasy, decadence and distortions.

Joanne is also the author/illustrator of Biba Dolls, a book published in 2004 that pays homage to the infamous London Biba boutique of the 60s and 70s. Barbara Hulanicki endorsed the book herself in its Foreword as 'a playful and beautiful look at the magical time of Biba'. Her illustrations for this book were also the inspiration behind the S/S '08 collection for the relaunched Biba label designed by Bella Freud. Her commissions also include a limited edition 'Biba Dolls' range for London department store Libertys & Co plus her designs for artwork and runway projections for the Biba S/S '08 London Fashion Week show. Her artwork of the early 20th Century Italian eccentric the Marchesa Luisa Casati is now housed in the Casati Archives and her Biba Dolls artwork has sold worldwide.

This luxe ribbon work baby doll-new Prada shoes and my fabulous new shawl is perfection for a debauched nite out! I did sell the fabulous baby doll today to to turn into a decadent BQ re-work...so it looks like I'll have to wear one of our kitty cat suits and lace stockings instead. BTW I hope all of you like leopard because we made some amazing new pieces. The leopard turbans are my favorite. Shoot photos coming next week!
