For the last few months I've been hinting around about my "New Look" Well today I'm happy to announce that the fabulous Alexandra Valenti will be giving us just that. She's shooting our 2011 lookbook. You may know her from the fabulous photos from The gorgeous Sisters of The Black Moon site. Here are a few of her photos and you can see her gorge website here. I've been wanting to share but things have been a little hectic in case you haven't heard. http://alexandraintheforest.com/
I do love the elements of the line. I'm not crazy about some of the feather placement -Example the red dress. I'm loving the body suits and the ombre fabrics. Image one and the image directly below.... the designs are exquisite!
Yes it's true! It's time for our once a year summer sale. We are making room for our fall collection this August. The sale is on Etsy and does not include our new listings.
Cheers,
BQ
Over the weekend I went to literally all my favorite shops in Austin and bought everything that I thought was cool. I even bought things that I've been eyeing over the past year. My picker also brought me an amazing Edwardian -20's box lot with some unusual ribbon work items. I also bought every piece from that fabulous old Rhinestone treasure trove I've been making the jewelry out of. Tons of flowers ,laces, metallic trims and even a couple of Boudoir Dolls. One thing I love about the shops and people that I buy from is that they always call me before they put things out. They know exactly what I'm looking for ; ) I'm anxious to get started on my collection for the fabulous fashion show we are doing this summer. I'll be posting more details soon.
Oh and in a post from yesterday my friend Kari is wearing the most divine rare Edwardian hat that came from my weekend purchases. Ask me about it before I put on www.boudoirqueen.com We are going to be updating our vintage and home sections. Lots of work to do over the few weeks. I can't wait to get back in the studio!
If you live in Austin be sure to pick up a copy of Austin Monthly Magazine to read about BQ.
Cheers xox BQ

A fabulous client of mine who lives in Sydney wanted a custom Boudoir Queen dress to wear to a fabulous wedding this spring. She liked the recent off-white pearl encrusted bustle and the matching dress we had listed on ETSY. We both agreed the the off white would probably not be appropriate for a guest to wear to the wedding. Below is the fabulous dress and bustle. Story continued below

After several discussions Inger told me that she loved the colors teal and red and adored the vibe of the THEDA BARA Cherry Bomb Jacket and Cloche'. Below
After a good nights sleep I woke up and thought why not revamp the off-white Dress and Bustle and go full tilt Theda Bara Cherry Bomb style? So we did and I'm glad we did . It's gorgeous! Inger, I hope you have an amazing time at the wedding. I'm certain you will be the best dressed guest! Special thanks to the BQ Team! Comments are welcome! Yes it's true I worked at Golyester and the fabulous most magnificent collector Esther Eden is a friend if mine. I lived on Orange street directly behind the shop. This was just a few years ago. I would walk over and help her out. It was really funny because when I was just in L.A. I stopped in. The girl I used to work with was still there! She said OMG it's Dawn and we had a long chat and there are several other popular designers working there now. A few minutes later she says Dawn you have a phone call......I was like what? I pick up the phone and it was Esther. I don't know who told her I was there but she called to catch up and say hi. She has one on the best collections in L.A. One of the reasons I worked there was because sometimes I would trade for goodies in lue of $$. I miss L.A. and am looking forward to returning for awhile.

I have been in a totally glammed out mood! Tonight I'm Rock'in My BIBA stacked platform ankle boots. I'm also going to wear a new piece from BQ. These boots were 550.00 and I bought them for 98.00 at last call Neiman Marcus today. I couldn't pass them up. 75% off plus 20% off plus they take off an extra off for using your Neiman's card. These are not something I would normally buy but for that price I couldn't pass them up. Their perfect for Marks gig tonight. Yes even I love a bargain! The bad thing is it takes me a whole 3 to 5 minutes to get to Last Call from my house. Highly dangerous!! I'm spoiled now. I always shopped at the Neimans in Beverly Hills but after seeing the prices at last call it's hard to justify it! I wear all my own clothes so I don't feel bad about going crazy on shoes and bags.
